this and that=love

sometimes near a park , sometimes not

what can I say

two wild and crazy guys

traveling with us in Japan

a shop along the way

a place to pray and meditate

seen from the window of the bullet train

as we flew by on tracks of iron

as if it was yesterday

the energy and drive

remains with me today

we came from lands far away

to learn and to pray

what I found most amazing

was that these teachers spoke not one word of English

The majority of the listeners

spoke (Brazilian)Portuguese, Spanish and a very few of us English

we gathered to pray for World Peace

to this day

the energy from this last visit

drives me to work harder every day

to become a better person

one who can dedicate and focus on

living in a way to bring about

World Peace

In Japan while there, it was hot the vegetation was lush

it was growing everywhere

where ever there was space

the green buds would push their way towards the light

LOVE is what nurtures growth

LOVE is what will see us through

LOVE should be part of everything we do

LOVE is beautiful

LOVE IS YOU

When I went to Japan a couple of years back for training, I landed in a heat that was smothering. I’ve been in the Florida sun, the heat of southern California, but never the relentless heat that was beating down in the area of Japan I was in for the training. I can’t recall the exact reason, but the air conditioning was not working on campus, so not only did I have to adjust to living surrounded by a strange language and more people than I am used to in a given day, I had to adapt to sleeping in Japanese dorm style accommodations.

These were the wonderful ladies from Spain, my roomies. Ana back left was the only one who spoke any English. Even with the heat, the foreign languages, somehow we all got along, and had not only a good time, we created GREAT lasting memories.

Days like today, when I start to want to complain about the heat, I think back to when we learned how to work and pull together, enjoying the moments. the heat forgotten, just the combined energy of “community” singing and encouraging each one another.

We came from all over, together we renewed our commitment to working towards World Peace. Whether in Japan, or back home. the objective is still the same, in working to be a better person, every step will lead to living with love in our hearts, and World Peace that much more of a reality.

Thursday Doors – Cumberland

some doors open and let us in

here you will see what rural life was like back in the early 1920’s

once inside we see life has it once was

this is a church is part of the Heritage Village retained

to show what life was like

in the 1920’s and 30’s

Cumberland Heritage Village Museum

2940 Old Montreal Road

open May 8th – October 30

Wednesday to Sundays

10 am – 5 pm

Cumberland is still within the city of Ottawa

obviously outside the city core

If you have never visited Ottawa, there is a lot to see

beside the main attractions.

Garage Sale

Good morning everyone, today is a church day, the sale is this week-end, therefore there is a lot of setting up to do to be prepared. If you live anywhere in the area, please pass this information along, The garage sale will be in the parking lot and the Boutique sale will be in the lower level of the church. We have lots of “treasures” and “goodies” for you to discover. This year, we have handmade one of a kind greeting cards that we are excited about. Affordable and fun. Lots of retro and diva jewelry, rings, necklaces, earrings, accessorize you look, you will have lots to choose from.

Yesterday’s visit to Montreal was very successful, as you know I’m working on Holiday cars for a group that gives crafted cards to shut ins, and seniors without families. To be ready for the holiday months, artist and crafters have begun working already on their projects.

The gathering, the preparations for the Sale, is a fun way to recycle and find ways to raise money, but more then that, it allows us to share the day with each and every visitor, interacting and enjoying the seek and find that happens at these events.

he could hear the birds. feel the heat beating down through the trees, yet without opening his eyes, he knew he wasn’t in a park. the smell of rusted metal, and old oil and grease permeated the air. his body was heavy, unresponsive, and whatever was on his chest was not going anywhere fast.

his eyes still closed, he knew, instinctively knew, that the weight on this chest was alive, and it was gazing hard, accessing, patiently waiting. Did he want to see what held him captive, sooner or later, he would have to look. The weight on his chest shifted, but did not move away, he could feel the warm breath on his face. He was too stiff, tired and dazed, it would be unwise to move suddenly, if he could at all. With a slow intake of his breath, he allowed his eyes to open.

the sun hurt his eyes but he forced himself to keep them open, there was lush vegetation all around from what he could see, he was surrounded by the remains of vehicles, he was in a graveyard of scrap metal. what he tried to avoid and was not succeeding were the dark emerald eyes flecked with gold that stared into his. There was no emotion not human anyway that looked into his, just a pair of hypnotic eyes that spoke volumes, but none that he could recognize.

suddenly the sun no longer gave him warmth. now he felt a chill, it travelled from his head down to his feet. This was something very different and very real, This was a she, he was sure, he was being held captive by a she, and he knew… she was wondering just what to do. She wasn’t hurting him, she wasn’t gentle, she was exploring and sizing him up, but for what. Why was he not afraid. what was it that kept him still, and wondering, almost a partner in this unknown dance.

life is what we make it. how we respond to situations in life, can change the course or direction of our lives. live being mindful of who you are and the opportunities around you. =^_^=

This is my story, that I’m sharing with you. My mind likes to invent when I’m driving and waiting for lights or in traffic.

Meet the artist

earlier today I took you to this door, when I posted on Norm’s Thursday Doors, now I’d like to introduce you to the wonderful artist who lives in this enchanted environment. Her name is Victorria Gillpin, she is a mosaic artist, who holds workshops/classes and offers supplies, as well as showing and selling her wonderful pieces of art.

Her website is www.thymeagainmosaicstudio.com Her studio is in Brockville, Ontario. You can’t miss it, she has this wonderful door beckoning at the front end of her property. As you walk down her lane, you will be delighted to see many of her whimsical creations.

Before you get to her back door, you are delighted with the door you saw in the first post, and this wonderful sink art.

She tells me that in summer it is full of colourful flowers, I was enchanted with it, just the way it was.
