together

a gathering

They lean against each other, enjoying the moment… each with his/her own thoughts.. knowing the weather is changing, wondering if they will last the winter.

It is important to be assertive, but maintaining harmony is just as important. Say what is on your mind clearly, but don’t be overly attached t your views, respect the points of view of others and always seek to find a happy medium.

breakfast companion

It was raining over the ice covered ground, but still I made my way to the feeding area. I was rewarded with this fella, he was not disturbed by my presence, and I was thrilled that he continued eating away, while I refilled the other feeders. He was a big guy, compared to the one I met later at the other feeder.

this one was shy, he/she stayed pretty much behind the suet.

Offer your services instead of expecting from others. Take the initiative to do what you can to help others. Understand their needs and act swiftly.

Evening Grosbeak

Try as I might, the beautiful face eluded me when the camera clicked. What a beautiful face, so bold, so striking. Sometimes called the beautiful magical vagabond, it seems that its appearance in the woodlands where I go, has drawn birders to the area to try and catch a glimpse. I confess I cheated, I bribed them with black seeds.. I got there and filled the empty feeders.. then stepped back and waited.

At first I thought ahhh I’m in luck a couple of blue jays arrived.. I got my camera ready, and of course as soon as I was ready they flew off. While I stood there deciding what I wanted to do I saw a flash of gold, and the wonderful masked head of the Grosebeak. Its face is so “arresting”.. the beak, and the markings on the face are vivid.

Their colouring is described as mustard yellow, with a big pale bill and gold eyebrows. I will have to go back and try again for a frontal view. I have googled it.. and see pictures of the face, but I want to capture a face for myself. An intriguing personality, I’m inspired. =^_^= I, of course am convinced there will be non as beautiful as the ones I saw today. =^_^=

To my long time birding friend, who knows until recently I have had no real interest in birds, “yes, I went out today and got myself a couple of Bird books so that I can identify the birds I find.” One of the ladies who sought me out to thank me for putting food out so they would come, had her ID book, from which she showed me the bird and the write up. Keeps it in her car she does..

This could be a passing fancy, but for now.. I am keen!

Always be cheerful, happy and good humored. When you make effort to be cheerful and happy, you will naturally begin to feel that way.

Thursday Doors

simplicity, shelter
practical, sturdy,

There are as many different doors, and entrances as there are pebbles on a beach. Each one tells a different story. Some are new, some old, some a mere memory, but always they are part of a bigger “story” .

Use any result, good or bad, as a stepping stone. All outcomes, whether positive or negative, are important experiences. Let’s use them wisely for our future progress.

one then 2

I drove out to the woodlands this morning to see if the birds had decided to feed at the new feeders I put out the other day. I was pleased to see one, and then a second one land on the suet feeder. I had to refill the other ones I had put out with seed. Today I had with me stale bagels that I had broken into bits, I put out a basket and hung it from another tree. Didn’t take long for the call to go out amongst the birds… I soon had birds coming from all directions. =^_^=.. There had been snow overnight, and I had one tire that was loosing air, but I was glad I made the journey.

The rest of the day was spent arranging for the tire to be repaired. Then going back to the dealer to have the work done. While waiting for the car, I sat and read a newspaper, something I don’t do, except when one is made available to me. There is a good reason I don’t read the newspaper, it seems that for something to be worthy of print it has to be negative reporting. I did learn that our Prime Minister has a step brother, who has opposing views on life. (rolls eyes and stifles a yawn).

We are nearing mid December there are many “holidays” approaching, at one time there would be stories and pictures of decorated homes, features on the various traditions being celebrated in different communities. I saw none of that.

So, I thought I’d post of my happy visit to the woodland, and the activities of the birds, squirrels and other little creatures that inhabit the world in our green spaces. I hope to have my monopod this week, and then I will be able to experiment with it to capture better pictures of the birds that come to dine.

Treasure each moment in time. Life is a continuation of “now”. Treasure each and every moment as it comes, so that you can live your life as fully as possible without regrets.

while you wait

Enjoy the moment while you wait… Things come about when they are meant to happen, Think of what you can do for the time being, and don’t rush the outcome.

Saying Goodbye

R.I.P

With gratitude and appreciation in our hearts, we say goodbye to a man who touched our lives in a way that with his passing left us with a profound grief, yet filled with a joy that his spirit will be with us always.

Life is art –

Perfect Liberty – Precept #1

Oshieoya-Sama (Master Takahito Miki) lived the PL Way, and through his example, we (each and every member) benefited. We said/say goodbye, but it is only at the loss of his physical presence, for he will live through the teachings of PL. PL teaches us that every day is a new beginning.

We must continue to strive to live as ONE with the Universe, and work towards World Peace.

prehistoric – lion/dragon

https://youtu.be/Vqk270sqZn0

I had to stop and grab the moment. Of course there were no other cars, till I was out of mine and in the middle of the road taking this picture. I was sure that it was a dragon, but the song in my head was about a lion, so … you decide. I just knew I wanted a picture of him before he disappears. Do you see him?
