Life is 10% what happens to me and 90 percent of how I react to it. (Charles Swindoll)
With one thought, “the world” will change. changing your way of thinking will make a difference on how you perceive the world. (PL 2021.24)
She was not alone, her mate came closer and kept watch that I would not go closer. I slowly backed away, happy to have shared a domestic moment with the pair.
Today’s quote, is one I need to print put and put on my mirror, on my PC screen .. a kitchen cupboard , my car door, almost everywhere. I have multi tasked all my life. It is time to make a supreme effort to change what is a habit that no longer feels comfortable to me. Just because we have always done something, doesn’t mean that we keep doing it.. when the willingness and the desire wanes. When I was carving out a career path and thrived on achievement.. it was a breeze and I loved it. A snow storm, bah.. I would strap on my X country skis and ski to work.. early before dawn to avoid traffic.. if the skiis were not going to work used my snow shoes I had the will and would find a way.
Life is different now, I am supposed to be retired, Seems I’m busier than ever. BUT my mind may want to be active, my body wants to slow down. Yesterday I pulled my folding chair from the back seat of the car, and simply sat with the birds, squirrels, chipmunks and wild turkeys. Yes it was still on the “cold” side, but soon the morning sun, warmed my face, and I felt a weariness I had been refusing to acknowledge begin to stir.
The singing of the birds, the sound of the big male turkey pecking at the corn, the squirrels chasing and scolding lulled me into a nice restful state. Even the blue jays turned down their cawing …it was amazing. Bonus later as I drove away, the sandhill crane was closer to the road, through the trees I got a good look as it gracefully lowered its head to graze.
Multitasking reduces your joy in half, When doing something .. give it your all. There is joy in everything. PL2021.23

variety of sparrows, doves, juncos, red wing blackbirds, cowbird, you name it, they all dropped in. and lets not forget my ravens who were calling from above. Life is so brilliant when we stop to listen.
Whether you are happy or not depends on your perspective, The things that happen in your life are neither good nor bad, It is your perspective that determines whether the outcome is good or unfortunate, PL 2015.17
Doorways, entrances, there is always a certain intrigue ..sometimes more obvious than others. Even at night, we are drawn to buildings because of an entrance/doorway. Some can be very deceiving, impressive and exciting on the outside, but uninviting once inside. Other doors or functional, strong and commanding, while inside there is calm and serenity.
Today I have combined the Thursday Door challenge that I participate in, and pictures of two of the Perfect Liberty churches. the streamline one on the left, is the PL Church in Hawaii, the bottom right is the Ottawa church, standing in front of the main entrance are, Rev Hiroki Matsuki and his wife, Yoshiko.
Reminder today is Ancestors Day, there will be a 10 a.m ceremony, if unable to attend, please take a moment for a short prayer mid morning if you can.
Today’s quote
Give thanks to your ancestors and to your parents. You exist today thanks to your ancestors and parents. Express your appreciation by devoting yourself for the sake of others and society. (PL 2015.11)
Note* In today’s prayers, make time to remember “All” who have touched your life in some way, been there for you, travelled some of your journey. Some may have been strangers, you met and never saw again, but the meeting left a lasting impression. Could be a voice at the other end of line, who when you needed kindness, was there for you. Gratitude and Appreciation are gifts we not only extend to others, but benefit our own lives.

Mother Nature hit her funny bone, Our new minister and his wife arrived from Japan the last week in March. Canada can have “interesting” winters, this last one for us was on the mild side, with less snow than we have had in years.. So guess what was dropped on us yesterday and into today. Some areas have received more snow than others. And add to the mix, the temperature has been dropping, today will be colder than yesterday. This is all ok for seasoned Canadians.. imagine the joy of experiencing this cold blustery weather hiccup .. if you are new…and didn’t come with a winter wardrobe.
Pl Precept # 18 Each moment is a turning Point.
A fresh snow fall is refreshing and beautiful. When we are going through one of our very hot humid summer days, we can recall the invigorating freshness of a blast of winter. Love living in a country with 4 distinct seasons!!
Applaud the Makoto of others. When you encounter good faith or kindness’ in others, make sure that you acknowledge it fully. This will make both you and them happy. (Makoto, One’s utmost sincerity) PL2016.23
PL Precept #2 To live is to express One’s Self.
Visiting with friends, I was looking for a picture to show them of a mutual friend, I had to go back through pictures posted many many years ago. Look what surfaced.. pictures of the days w hen I worked with a product called Powertex (that is a demo piece I did to advertise classes).. I combined the Powertex with another product, Apoxie Sculpt to do “garden/outdoor sculptures”. Interesting how something that was such a passion at one time, is now only a memory.
Hello. look what a friend introduced me to! We were talking about conservation areas, our dogs, just catching up … When I was shown a picture of the family dogs, I noticed her backyard was different from what I know to be backyards here where I live. Oh, yes, we are in the “high desert” she said, that is the Garden of the Gods you see in the background. Then she sent me the link to the web page for the Nature Park. Colorado! I have seen pictures in the past taken when other friends have holidayed there… however.. let me tell you… I book marked the page, and I will be going back to look at the stunning vistas again.
How easy it is to forget that there is so much in life to be explore and experienced. I would love to experience actually seeing those beautiful animals myself. Or taking in what looks like crisp dry air. I love my four seasons here in Canada, but that park sure looks like it would be fascinating to explore.
Treasure those fleeting inspirations. The time to seize an opportunity is when you first notice it. Good timing is crucial to working efficiently.
