Pl Precept # 15   All is a Mirror

My son called me a short while back, and asked me if I’d ever heard of Alan Watts. He was very serious about it, and I was totally surprised by his question.  In my mind, everyone knew Alan Watts (British philosopher best known for his interpretations and interest in Eastern philosophy)

I had learned a lot from Alan Watts, he had been one of my favourite authors, his words spoke to me, a young Taoist living in Canada where my thoughts and ways were so foreign to most around me.  Alan introduced and popularised Eastern philosophy by his writing and teachings  now I see that his lectures and talks have been transposed and are available on YouTube.  The wonders of the modern world.

For anyone interested, this is the official Alan Watts web page  Alan Watts.com

He was prolific as a writer, and speaker. One of the first to interpret Eastern wisdom for a Western Audience.  With our Church of Perfect Liberty here in Canada, at times this is how I sometimes feel, when I try to introduce and explain, that our church is a philosophy and way of life.

My son renewed my determination to work faithfully and diligently every day to bring the PL Way to North America.  World Peace is so so important to our well-being as inhabitants of this planet.

The PL teachings help us to live in a way that will encourage and help us, live a happy and peaceful, balanced life, this will radiate out from us… bringing more love and acceptance of our unique and diversified personalities and cultures, when we know and show respect, we ourselves, grow and gain from new beginnings..

We are all ONE –

know love, show love, be love.. nurture and exist in a peaceful world

PL Precept # 2       To live is to express One’s Self

2 sisters, two styles,

PL Precept # 1      Life is Art

How we express ourselves, whether on canvas or another form of expression, is us, being true to ourselves.  We are all unique, let us respect and do our best to understand the differences and challenges around us.

We are all ONE.

PL Precept # 11     Always be with GOD

c’est bizarre, c’est jeudi

What happens when suddenly you realize it is Thursday! Wow, like how did this happen, it came at me right out of the blue.

Like the seasons, was it just yesterday I sat and watched the birds fly by on the horizon, couldn’t have been, when I look out side now, the world is white, we’ve had snow.  Lots of it, although, it was so mild yesterday, temperatures went up to 40 degrees F.  Today is going to be another mild day.

img_20151206_125944719I had thought of going to New York city for the Perfect Liberty Thanksgiving service this month.  The thought of seeing NY again, I’ve been away from some time, actually a LONG time, so close to the Chinese New Year, a side trip down to Chinatown would have been a real treat.

If you saw my blog the other day on Chinese New Year, and took the time to watch the video on the foods prepared for the special celebration, you would have seen a lot of colour, especially reds.

It was not to be.  In the Japanese Church of Perfect Liberty, we use a word, Kamuwaza, it basically means, “God’s Act”  or through no other reason, but that “something” just doesn’t happen, due to many different circumstances.  In this case, all the signs were not pointing towards a good productive trip, my pushing the envelope to go anyway, would mean that, my desire, my wishes, were “mine” and not necessarily were they going to happen.

The TAO. also addresses this, there are times when we simply need to listen to the “signs” around us, and STOP pushing forward. It is time to STOP, reflect, and regroup.

Noooooo I’m not bummed about it, a tad disappointed maybe, but I have learned, that everything has a reason, (season) and by staying tuned in .. PL Precept # 11   Always be with God.
PL Precept #17   Grasp what is essential   AND

PL Precept # 20 Live maintaining Equilibrium between Mind and Matter..  Things will progress and develop (PL Precept # 16)

Life is beautiful when you live the PL WAY … every day, in every way.

ohno-part-2e_007There is a wonderland around us.  We walk through it every day.  There are magical people that pass us by on the street every day.  People with dreams and imaginations just like ours, who from looking at them we would never know that they were actors in their own theatres and plays.  Yet at night they could be transforming the world of others with their creativity and talents.  You need only walk though a museum, see a window display, every where and especially at this time of year, you will see the creative expressions decorating homes and whole streets…. We love to delight.

PL Precept # 2  To live is to Express One’s Self.

mess-12-9

There is an expression when you do something, do it right.  Well this was not my intent, but, hey, life happens.

PL Precept # 1    Life is Art

The congee did cool down and was transferred to another bowl, my wonderful husband, who I appreciate every day, cleaned it up .. he says I’m the best “mess maker” he has ever ever known =^_^=

PL Principle #21  I will live in true harmony with my spouse

Enjoy the sunshine, dress up .. it is  on the cool side, but remember.. LIFE IS GOOD!

shades of white

white-banksia-rose-flowers-1s white against a back ground of green

what a lovely picture you’ll see

the fragrance of a flower in bloom

will  touch your senses

with a magical sensory tune

cloud-and-sky

white against a sky of blue

a sigh will escape your lips

as you dream of a place

under tropical skies and

lazy sun drenched afternoons

img_0332

yet white against a sky of gray

can make for a very dull day

the white is still white

but we see it in a totally different way

think about it

how many times

have you looked at someone in a different way

only because

their background

coloured your way of seeing them

my sister painted me a hobbit house

sometimes, I think

yeah, this is where I want to stay

lost in a meadow of sheep

where I can while away the day

and at night, turn in for

a fitful sleep.

everyone needs a place to stay

when they need time

away

from a world that can in disarray

word so easily flow for me,

yet this evening I am at a loss

I am trying to understand, how one so young can no longer want to live

while we wait, for news, if he will make it through this tragedy

I thank God for my blessings, and for the life I’ve lived

I ask myself, could I have done more

should I have known, were there signs that I missed

no one can know of course, what is really in someone else’s heart

how heavy the burden must have been

how alone he must have felt

now we wait and hope it is not too late.

Please pray for all the quiet souls who suffer in silence

so caught up in our own needs and wants

we sometimes forget to look around

and reach out with kindness

to someone who could use a friend.

I hold you all in my prayers

even though the miles are many and the distance way too far

for me to physically reach out and touch you

know that you never leave my mind.

and to you who is now  clinging to what is left of  your life

I close my eyes and pray with all my might

that the gentle hand of God will do what is right

& allow the blessing of peace this night
