Sunday sharing

I am filled with the unquenchable joy of Spirit! There is a joy I feel that comes and goes in response to what is happening around me. Yet I have a joy that is beyond what I feel as a response to people and circumstance. The spirit of God within me is my source of true joy.

In the presence of divine joy, I am encouraged to be aware of the love peace and strength that are in me, in others and throughout the world.

Daily Word, 209, Psalm 92:4

Each person’s peace leads to world peace. First of all, you have to be happy. that happiness will spread and be the foundation of World Peace.

changing seasons

It is still only end of July, tomorrow will be August 1. Already I have seem the beginning of change happening along the roadside where I walk.

It is only here and there, but it is happening.

The last few days have been wonderfully “cool”.. balmy… especially early morning. I love it, but I hear on the radio the little gripes … the wanting of more hot, humid, hazy temperatures. this is Canada, we will get more “hot” weather, not until well into October, will we be past the chance of long periods of “hot”….

Today at P23, I got to meet up with one of the early morning regulars, he’s met up with a dangerous little critter called a Fisher Cat. We had a lengthy discussion of what these animals are capable of. They are predators and can and do kill even known to attack and kill porcupines. He showed me a picture and I said “oh a little mink”* but no, its bigger and even more aggressive / https://youtu.be/wMjQN48OqtI he encountered one who was not going to get off the path for him.. he had to use his walking poles aggressively to encourage it to move along. * believe same family)

can grow up to 10 pounds and 4 ft. in length. (picture taken from Internet)

Each person’s peace leads to world peace. first of all, you have to be happy. That happiness will spread and be the foundation of World Peace.

Dean Hagopian – a man of many talents

Going through family photos I found this one of Dean, for those of you old enough to remember him when he lived in this area, he was a very gifted and talented (at the time) young man. He was the morning man for what was at that time one of THE newest and most progressive stations in this city. CKOY. He had, probably still does, had the talent of being able to do voices and characters in a way that the audience thought he actually had different personalities with him in the studio. His love of music and his ability to recognize talent also gave him an edge at drawing his audience. It was at a time when the DJ got to pick his own music and pull his show together “his” way. It wasn’t all automated the way it is now.

Dean later went on to bigger markets, from one major city to another in Canada. He added acting, doing voice overs to his resume and the rest is history. Why… you ask am I talking about Dean, I guess its because someone asked me about him the other day, and shortly after I saw Shirley’s pictures of her trip across the Alpine in NZ which I shared with you yesterday. Dean was a character actor, much of his work if it was voice over was not seen, only heard. There are many actors everywhere who you would not recognize on the streets but their voices have been heard worldwide.

In PL when we look at Precept #1… life is Art…………. every day this Precept helps us maneuver and use our creativity to make choices, and live our lives in a meaningful way. Some days are more meaningful than others, but each and every day is a day we live, it is our existence. Each experience we live, adds to our personal dimension. Cuts another facet in our “Being”

cats doing what they do well… watching the world go by…

We, all (human beings) have been doing a lot of “watching the world go by” these past many months, we have had to be resourceful and use all of our creativity to deal with the many changes that have taken place all around us.

One of the “wisdoms” I took away from my time with Dean was his ability to use his creativity to deal with the many challenges/opportunities that came his way. We were so totally different in many ways, yet very alike in others. Our similarities (for me) have only come to light in my more recent years.

Every day, I am reminded through PL teachings that it is very important to live each day with Godin our center, but to try to live each moment with Makoto.. sincerity.

To succeed with his audience, Dean made us all believe and get to know the personalities he shared with us, his talent at doing the voices and recreating each character was a gift. He shared it willingly. I must ask him next time I see him, how hard it was to maintain “balance”. Every character/role we play in life, the hard core fact is.. they are all US, or the person who is you.. Who you are when you say ME.

PL Precept #20 Live maintaining equilibrium between mind and matter.

Each facet in a diamond is part of a whole. We are all ONE with God/Nature.

Everything here is soooo green, lush and over grown, when I saw Shirley’s photos from her trip she was just on, I asked to share a few with you. Isn’t the world a wonderful place, the geography is so different .. depending on where you are on the “globe”

Life is what we make it.

Don’t think overly about people. Instead of being excessively concerned about others, focus on what you should do.

I had wonderful “ladies day” outing, we had lunch at a cafe/restaurant on the canal, ate out by the water. I didn’t intend for it to happen but I have a golden glow that wasn’t there earlier. The sun was out, there was a breeze, company was exceptional, food was good.. hey.. Life is Good!

Traffic stops

when these darlings decide its time to cross the road (photo NumOttawa)

I was driving along drinking in the wonderful greenery on all side of me … when I spied two turkeys’ casually standing by the side of the road. I slowed down to a crawl waiting to see what they would do… as I was doing so, I saw two cars coming in the other direction… they did likewise. We sat, waited while the two divas took their time walking across to the other side of the road, disappearing into the woods. ,On a busy city street, when traffic is just a blur, I don’t know that I’d be so patient. There is something very calming about being in “the country”… we (the drivers) who frequent these roads that lead to trails and greenspaces, are in a different zone when we turn off the main roads, into our tranquil zones.

Do things joyfully instead of taking it easy. Enthusiastically engage with what’s in front of you. You’ll enjoy it more.

Thursday 29th

Reminder- Founders day (Kyososai) is this coming Sunday, August 1. It is when we pray our appreciation and honor the spirits of our Founders, and rededicate ourselves to spreading and sharing the philosophy we live for the realization of world peace. If you have not heard from your minister, contact the church or a Hokyoshi in your area for how, when and where it is to be celebrated in your area.

We welcome everyone to share in this day. Even if it just in saying a silent prayer with us that the world we live in will continue towards a better understanding of our unique natures, and that each in our own way will work towards World Peace.

Such is true in life also. When faced with a problem that seems to be a constant sadness and weighs heavy on your heart… what do you do. I pray. I pray for guidance that my actions will be the right ones..

Let’s respond clearly. giving a proper response shows consideration towards others.

Kyososai PL Founders Day

Kyososai, the PL founders Day ceremony falls on August 1st. It is a ceremony where we express our most sincere appreciation to Oshieoya and the first and second founders. Our Oshieoya passed away this past year, so this event is even more important this year for we will be remembering with appreciation and gratitude, the work that has been done to date, for the rapid realization of true World Peace.

Past years I have been in Japan for this celebration and ceremony, on this day tens of thousands of PL members from the local churches in Japan and all distant parts of the world, would gather at the PL Hoy Land, the home of our spirits, to show appreciation and pray. It is a very special occassion. This year due to the passing of Oshieoya, travel restrictions, and other factors that must be dealt with due to the world wide pandemic, there has had to be adjustments .. still the day is one that we must acknowledge and celebrate each in our own way.

When our first founder passed, he asked the teachings/philosophy be spread all over the world. “Do not grieve or mourn over my death. Rather, celebrate together with fireworks” this has been a long standing tradition. To this end the Second Founder wanting to fulfill his father’s wish, created “the Art of PL fireworks.” Every year the pilgrimage is made, the grounds fill up and after the PL Kyososai ceremony, it is followed by fireworks that have been enjoyed for years.

Wherever you are, on August 1, please join in with us in prayer and meditation, give thanks and appreciation for the significance of this day, its purpose and what it symbolizes. We more than ever need to work towards World Peace.

Also on Founders’ Day August 1. there is a ceremony held in the Peace Tower (PL Headquarters in Tondabayashi, Osaka, Japan) Where we honour the spirits of all those who lost their lives in wars, regardless of race, religion or Nationality they are memorialized at the altar of the Peace Tower. We pray for everlasting peace of humankind.

Mark your calendars, August 1. Kyososai. We all, everyone of us, want World Peace. Please check with your local church, find out what is being done, and attend if you can. If you need help or a consultation, please contact the minister in your area, or a hokyoshi. we are here for YOU. If you don’t know who to contact, get in touch with me.

Today’s calendar for the 27th.

It’s okay to think “this is where it starts” There is always a turning point. It’s important what you do from now on.

interlude in Arnprior

With one thought, “the world” will change. changing your way of thinking will make a difference on how you perceive the world.

Perfect Liberty 2021.24

What a joy filled day. A friend came by, she drove, we went to Arnprior, I got to just sit, enjoy and take in the beautiful scenery along the way. There are no words for how much I enjoyed visiting the retreat we went to. There was a private beach that I got to visit and bask in the sunshine while she conducted her business. How far out fantastic was that! No one around, just me and the waves gently rolling into shore. Heavenly!

I will admit the climb back up from the beach to the retreat area.. tested my stamina. Going down was easy, the climb back up, LOL its called exercise….

I am a happy camper.. hope to sleep soundly this evening.

my space

enter the serene landscape of Dewberry

The further you walk into the quiet of the woodlands, the more serene it gets. There are places along the way where one can sit a spell. I have found a fallen tree to sit on, where I can hear the sound of a babbling stream, as it merrily makes its way through the dense forest carpet, some days I m may hear another traveler off in the distance, but that is rare. (week-ends it might be different)

Each season brings a different decorated theme. Each passing day there is something new to discover. the landscape is forever changing.

Please let me explain that the quiet while in the woods is not without sound. There is a constant singing and chatter of the birds and other residents of the forest community. Their voices blend to create a soothing lullaby to the ears of an urban traveler.

In PL when we are faced with a problem, we work at resolving the “issue” by looking at how we, ourselves can change , what we need to do, to change our thinking to redirect negative energies towards more positive vibes. For me, my daily time spent in or near the woodlands helps me to focus, to listen to my inner voice. To replay and consider conversations with my friends. God (Nature) will always provide. We have to learn how to “hear” “be receptive” mostly, we have to “let go and let God”

There are 21 Precepts in the PL Philosophy, each one is a guide, or a “key” to help us through our journey. The first one, Life is Art.… is my mantra…. I am the artist, and life is my canvas.

PL Precept # 2… To live is to express one’s self.

I share my world with you, why, because, I see and feel love when I am in Nature, and we all need love.
