a winter’s day

Driving through the take out lane, I saw the fog was lifting. earlier, not even an hour or so, I could see only two car lengths in front of me

I was heading back towards the city now, with each passing mile, the sky got brighter

bright enough, that I thought to stop to take a picture. Usually I am driving by this site during the work day, and the road is just too busy. I may have mentioned that I have been wanting to get a picture before the whole building disappears. It has happened before, I am driving along a road I travel many times a week when suddenly I realize that a building has disappeared.

The world around me is in constant flux. For some reason, the demolition, began at a time that for whatever reason, I missed it. I happened to go to the post office one day (it is across from this location) and when I drove out, it was a “WOW when did that happen???” That was in the fall, and here it is February of the following year, and there it still stands.

I did see an opening in the fence. However, my common sense, held me in check. No hard hat, and not wearing my steel toed footwear. Maybe I’ll get a chance another day. LOL if I were to find rust I would be in 7th heaven.

This adventure took place last week, today, I am looking forward to what’s ahead.

Dogs are capable and knowledgeable, and it is not unusual to see Dog people in high demand in the job market. Dogs like to work at whatever career they choose. Prince William, Elvis, Cher, George Gershwin, Mother Teresa, were born in Dog years

As a partner Dogs are extremely loyal although they think they know best, it is fortunate that they are usually open-minded. and will be open to advice. Generally speaking with their sensitive and compassionate heart, they do well in occupations or careers that “serve” or work in the best interest of others. ie. teachers, charity workers, doctors etc.

Unlike other Dog years the Earth Dog is less idealistic than most Dogs, the Earth element makes them practical enough they don’t lose sight of reality.

In China dogs are usually associated with justice and compassion.

We are living at a time, when the plus, positive characteristics of the Dog, could stand us in good staid.

HAVE A HAPPY START TO THE NEW YEAR. BLESSINGS, GOOD HEALTH, AND PROSPERITY always.

In the past I have used sludge from DeSerres (Tri Art) I spilled my last jar and have yet to replace it, so the above was done using alternate products found in my inventory.

To achieve a result, often requires more than one product, and when one ingredient is not available, if we are determined to get the result we are hoping for, we explore what is available, or easy access, and we experiment. It doesn’t matter if we succeed exactly as we had wanted what matters is that we do our best .. and try.

*** and *** that you are happy and cheerful while you are creating. Happiness is a state of mind. It is the journey that counts. When we are not open to every possibility around us at any given time, it could be a missed opportunity.

Thursday doors 2.1.18

When you see a building off in the distance, you know you are going to get closer. No matter the weather or the road conditions on that day,

A simple structure, not sure what it is for, I wondered if it is decoration or for children to play in while the parents enjoy a coffee break.

When I found the door I was excited. Wow… it is all in the details.. rustic, charming, certainly a cheerful moment in an otherwise ho hum day .. (weather wise) My husband and I enjoy this park, in the summer, it is not over crowded, and the breeze from the water is always refreshing.

We didn’t get there last fall, due to circumstances beyond our control, so this was a very pleasant surprise. Put a door on something and all of a sudden, it becomes a much more interesting place.

This little house and door, fit into the landscape just beautifully. =^_^=

Happy Monday

I confess to being a back road junky. I will take wrong turns or continue along a road, just because. I love to see the different landscapes, colours, building and whatever else cannot be seen while we are driving on a main road. Admittedly, I sometimes find myself on a country road that I had no intention of being on.. Usually that is when I find something that cries out to me.. Stop… come back, and I do. I pull over, there is little to no traffic, put on my emergency lights and get out.

west end Munster 1 In the summer or in other seasons where foliage and filled in landscapes, catch the eye, the buildings can go unnoticed. Not the other day, I stood on the empty road, and just took in the quiet, the different shades of blue/gray in the skies, and the personality of the building that once was.

Somehow the snow and the wisps of dried vegetation that poked out here and there, gave the building a charm, I don’t know would be there when the trees were in full bloom. Maybe in the fall with the autumn colours. Come September/October, if I remember, and IF I can find it again. I should check it out.

Time to find a main road, so that I can get back on track, do what needs doing and head home …

Today is a hospital day. Please keep us in your prayers, send positive, healing energy, we will hear today, what the doctors have put together for us.

Know that we appreciate all the kinds words, your thoughtful caring “presence” in our lives is truly a blessing.

Miss Piggy waves hello.. a cheerful pot of tea, she is dropping in to wish you well, We have a bright sunny day here, milder temperatures too. I think I heard thunder rolling across the winter night sky in the early morning hours. Warmer air, passing over and pushing down on the colder air below.

Thursday door – dreams

Alexander Lautsyus January post

Door – usually we think of a physical barrier that opens, closes, revolves, but what about the doorway to our dream states, or entrance to another realm. When Alexander posted this picture in earlier January of this year, I was immediately transported to another place, a state of mind/Being. I had no words to describe how it made me feel, it just spoke volumes to me.

The picture for me puts a visual on the “feeling” of some of my dreams. His 1st picture in that blog, reminds me of when I am searching looking out, and this one I’ve posted, reminds me, or gives me a feeling of happiness and joy. He was on Lake Ontario, he looked, he saw, and he captured.

Not a physical door, but definitely for me, a doorway, an experience of walking through to another “world”. For “real” tangible doors, you need to link to Norm 2.0 and from there follow the links to all the other bloggers who post to this feature.

what is there to say

the water looks dark, cold and uninviting

no need to test it with my toe

by the time I walk across the snow-covered grounds

my feet and toes will no longer be cozy warm

I think I will pass, and not go near the water’s edge

that is something I can do on another day

meanwhile I will view from afar

the far away shoreline, before

I head back, following the path that I’ve taken

back to the truck.

Not really exciting, but refreshing, yes.

mountain 1.15.

I knew I shouldn’t just stop along the highway, but when I saw the trees coated in white snow, I found a way to stop so I could take a few pictures.

Too often, I squeal with delight at something I pass along the way. I know moments can’t repeat themselves, but still I try. I wanted to capture the white frosting on the sculpted branches. I drove for miles and saw only open fields, with winter shades of blanched stalks, and soft golden grasses standing out from the fresh fallen snow. Farm houses, and barns in the distance would have made great captures, but there was no place to stop.

We need to seize opportunities when they show themselves. As I turned off the busy #43, towards Mountain, I saw the stand of trees, with their blanket of snow, and the textured ground cover and I knew… it was time to pull over. Such moments, are not necessarily the best photos, but they sure are rewarding moments that leave a person feeling good. Sometimes we need just LIVE the moment, and then move on.

If we hold back, wait and want only that perfect picture. We miss the moment. Technical composition, for me does not >for me< a memory make… Just saying…

That is why we are all so different, and why appreciation of another is so valuable in the enrichment of daily life.
