I was so tired when I got to this part of the highway, I had pulled off thinking I’d put the seat back and maybe close my eyes…then I heard all the birds, saw the river slowly drifting by… and I was enticed out of the car ,it was such a beautiful day. Nature and all its wonders is a soothing balm.
Have a good day everyone!
Oyashikiri
along the St. Lawrence River between Canada and the USA
My last visit here was in very early spring, no vegetation had begun yet.. This was not the case yesterday… it is such a pleasure to drive off the busy road, and turn into the parking lot for this hidden paradise. It was later in the morning, there were only two other cars in the parking lot. As I made my way down into the wonderful welcoming quiet of the forest…. I could feel my shoulders relaxing and my pace slowed down, I wasn’t in a rush… I just wanted to drink in the beauty around me. I took these pictures where a path I used to take to the water was completely filled in…NO, I didn’t wander down through it.. I was being careful .. there are a lot of tick sightings I didn’t want to invite unwanted trouble.
Appreciate the Makoto (Sincerity) of the people who came before you
Everything we have today was built upon the hard work of our ancestors and the people who came before us. Always remember to be thankful and humble and continue to build on their past successes.

This trail goes a long way into the woods, past a long ago kiln works building that is basically now just a shell. a reminder that “nothing stays the same” I hope to go back later in the fall and do a longer walk,
Whatever ever you do today, make your smile shine….
Time appears to stand still when you come across a peaceful scene along the river. The gentle curving of the walkway meant that you slow down your pace…. your eyes follow the shoreline, birds are singing happily from somewhere off in the distance. It feels good to have the moment to yourself, The sun is high in the sky, but the surrounding trees are providing dappled shade. This walkway follows the wanderings of the Rideau River…along Riverside Drive (Ottawa)… There has been a lot of construction this summer along Bank Street, (cross street) This could be the reason, but in my exploring the other day, there were very few people enjoying the “park” ..note… the colours are starting to appear. Mother Nature has begun to weave her magic.
When you are not having fun, could it be because you’re being lazy
Sometimes you feel blue or can’t seem to find the joy in doing anything. At times like this, just get up and move your body or work your mind to the fullest extent.

Ottawa is surrounded by beautiful really beautiful landscapes. An outdoor enthusiast paradise, a photographers dream
From spring to summer, what a difference. Of course I would pick a day when it is pouring rain to make the trip, but “c’est la vie” rain or shine, being in nature is a joy.
There will always be a way
If you persist and be creative without giving up, you will find solutions that you had not considered before.

I had no intentions of going back out to the nature trails that I went to every day for 7 years,… but … one should never say never, Sometimes we need to return to what was.. to see if WE are still “in tune” with where we were back when there was no other way to start a day, It was familiar, but I am not the same woman … I felt a tug of sadness … the birds that had greeted me each day, the furry critters who came at the sound of my voice, were not to be found.. of course the time of day was different, and it was pouring rain. Still…. a gentle reminder… N O T H I N G stays the same,.
Have a good day everyone, PL Precept # 16 All things progress and develop.
Yesterday came and went, it can not be recalled or relived. What was, was. So often I find myself with an idea … and I don’t write it down. “I’ll remember” I tell myself.. but I don’t. Oh I recall I had this brilliant idea, but what the idea was…. ah… well… let’s just say, it may or may not surface again.
Discover the joy of transforming yourself

Do not take life too seriously. you will never get out of it alive, (Elbert Hubbard)
Listen to others’ opinions with an open mind and learn from their wisdom. If you are too entrenched in your own thoughts, you will not be able to catch hints or inspirations from others. Let’s always be open to others’ opinions.
