When I saw Shirley’s recent post of her visit to a “rust” exhibit.. I knew I wanted to share them with you … thanks Shirley…

My other collection of doors I found, are rather of a different kind.. I’ll show you a few here. For long time friends, you know I’m on the hunt for ideas for October …

Don’t give up! Stick with it as many times as it takes. Sometimes you want to just throw in the towel and say, “I give up” but, that’s the time for you to dig deep and push through. Your sincere efforts will invite a good outcome.

Enjoy… the one on the ferry is a fun capture, how often have I ridden a ferry, but not thought of taking a picture of the doors. I know Chris was focused on the Zoo advertisment… but HEY I’m a door chaser.

This is where you find Chris’s blog https://milford-street.com/

Be a person who can recognize the sincerity of others. When you put your whole heart into things, you will be able to notice the sincere acts of others in the subtle things they do, and appreciate them that much more,

Always pray “for the happiness of others and Society” Praying only for your own wishes is not the true way we should be. Strive to do things for the sake of others, and pray for their happiness as well.

I wish I had found this one, but alas, it came to me by way of a dear friend who know of my “love” of doors and such. To all my fellow writers out there, doesn’t this just grab at your “imagination” tug at a bygone feeling that hasn’t quite disappeared from your box of “shadows”

There is something so tangible so totally “earthy” in natural product.. in this picture the wood. I can even imagine the smell of the wood in the heat of summer, and feel the cool hardness in winter. What a “wow” moment it had to have been for the photographer who captured this frame.. my thanks to the “gods” to have kept it safe all these years and to MC for sending it to me so I could share it with you all today.

Don’t hold anything back; give it your all. Always approach things with full enthusiasm and energy. Then, things will develop in a new direction.

Enjoy the moment while you wait. Things come about when they are meant to happen. think of what you can do for the time being, and don’t rush the outcome.

There is a door set in the wall – it is closed

on each side it is flanked by a window, shut tight

the moss on the cement blocks leading to the door,

suggests that the steps have been there for awhile

how many times have the window panes been kissed by the rain

just when did the house fall silent

are there finger prints on the windows, of children looking out

If I knock, will someone come to the door

The house is so small and still, I can see right through to the back door.

just waiting for some kind of response .. I feel the house shift

it has been awhile, but it can still hear echos of its former lives

it sits silently aware that for a brief moment in time, someone came to visit

standing proud, it feels good, once more it served a purpose and was rewarded with a moment of appreciation.

Old homes, buildings, fences, cars, trucks, they are reminders that life is fragile, and fleeting, now more than any other time, is not the time to squander the joys of living, the true meaning of friendships, and genuine caring and understanding of the people, communities around us.

It is important to say “thank you” Everything that appears in front of you is all material for you to improve yourself whether its food, people or things. Learn to accept everything, whether it is something you like or not.

Thursday doors

missing door
a door that welcomes strangers
a door that leads to a journey
a door from yesteryear

We encounter doors every day, some we don’t even see, some we see, but have no desire to enter, and others capture our imaginations just by being there.

knock knock, who is there? It’s me with a prayer. =^_^=
where there is a door, there is always a here and beyond.

Thursday Doors

old and worn, always dependable

Chinese New year (Rat) this Lunar year will be January 25. My door is old and I use it often to paint on, or simply try out new techniques. Solid wood, it is dependable and always welcoming. (to me).. At this time of year, it gets a festive holiday New Year greeting (blessing) for those in the home and friends coming in.

longer view to show off the dog prints too..

To the right of the entrance door is the old milk box, where the delivery service would come in the mornings, take away the old empty bottles and exchange them for fresh new milk, if lucky with a wonderful dollop of cream floating on top. How many of you remember these boxes…

Yes Norm, the door is faded from the last time you saw her. Maybe this spring, I will give her a new look. Stay tuned =^_^=

Thanks for visiting.. muah.. hugs to you all …
