I spent time with a small fierce falcon yesterday. He/she and I had a staring contest, he could have been as curious as I was. My cell phone capture the bird enough so a friend could identify it. I am using a picture found on the internet.

The Merlin is a small species of falcon from the Northern Hemisphere . Bird of Prey it is fast and goes after song birds and shorebirds. Falco columbarius

The best timing to take action is when you notice it

When you take note of something, it is a signal from the Universe, that you should take care of it right away.

This is the “cold” season, have you tried brown rice roasted tea? If you are already a fan, try making it with fresh ginger…. (for the brave, crushed garlic (fresh) helps with coughing.) I am going to make a carrot, spinach smoothing heavy on the ginger, garlic and celery. (I’m adding beets)

Rejoicing in an early spring day. Soon, only a few months away! Trees will be sprouting their greenery again, and the cold and snow will be but a memory. Meanwhile, if you live here .. you can put on your skates and skate on the longest skating rink supposedly in the world. (The Rideau Canal)

Needle Felting anyone. When I saw this puzzle I wanted to run to my stash and reproduce it. Felting is such a relaxing and rewarding “hobby”. Then I thought it would be fun to stitch, my sister told me about a “new” pastime called “slow stitching” I think that is what she called it? Do you know? Does it inspire you?Is it the colours or the softness, it has dimension! depth! What do you see?

Open up opportunities by being proactive.

Opportunities don’t just come knocking on the door. Use your enthusiasm and energy to bring good fortune your way.

You can just tell the climate is not the cold of today.. the picture was taken just a few days ago but in another part of the world. It is amazing how at the same time I was dealing with a cold that chills to the bone, a friend was wandering and taking in the sights in the Dominican Republic.

We walk around and tend to our lives (cuz we are in the moment! right!) yet someone else, at the exact time, is experiencing his/her life in a completely different way. That is what is so awesome about the world we live in. Our opportunities are so vast, so diverse. and yet…. we often find ourselves going up and down the same street, and never going beyond what is “familiar” to us.

Have you stepped out of your comfort zone lately?

Don’t be swayed by the past; It’s what you do from now on that counts. Your failures as well as your successes are now in the past. Always look towards the future and start with a fresh outlook.

I am enjoying my newest discovery, doing puzzles on the computer/actually iPad. No puzzle pieces all over the table for the cat/dog to discover and want to rearrange. Just good music (I get to listen to Trow’s set from last night and simply REST/unwind) With the cooler weather slowly descending on us, are you prepared for the weeks ahead?

For me the adjustment has been the time change. Boy does it get dark early. FYI.. I am cutting back on the early morning visits to woodlands.. not sure how yet, but I am working it through. I hope to spend more time at the health club/gym during the winter weeks ahead. AND I’ve worked on improving my commitment to Self Care!!
