machine Sunday

I saw this cutie the other day, I not only was captivated by her “cuteness” I like the shadows of the tree on the wall of the new home being built. Hard/soft. This morning when I opened my mail I found a blog by a fellow blogger who I so enjoy..

https://milfordstreet.wordpress.com/2020/06/14/spring-planting/comment-page-1/#comment-32058 When I saw his little beauty.. I decided I would share my little Bobcat.

In a sharing conversation last night with a fellow “hokyoshi” (minister) in PL, Perfect Liberty, and a friend in Japan also PL (Minister’s wife) we talked of our concern .. how we need to work harder to maintain a personal connection with our members and other people in society. It is so easy to avoid being social, or interacting with another fellow human being – using the possible threat of an illness to hide from life.

You only need look at the media hype, and the listen to any kind of broadcast to get your fill of accusations, finger pointing, 1001 ways to avoid being near or around anyone else. There is competition in every quarter, the political scenes around the world.. all … centered on criticism, and negativity.

Machines, as cute as they are, and/or as efficient as they can be, need a human to work them. They function but do not have a “heart”. We are not machines, we are not robots, nor are we capable of really existing without humans in our life, Not roles.. ie. doctor, lawyer, teacher, we are not the titles of our occupation, we are born to live.. to embrace life, and to share in the bounty of nature.

“let us deepen our faith in togetherness..” let peace and harmony find its place in our lives.. so that we are rainbows, mirrors that reflect goodness and love. We are all unique and we all have something to bring to the THANKSGIVING table.

thank you Steph! love you.

I disagreed

hello there.. =^_^=

I’m usually easy going, I do have an opinion, when asked, I have always done my best to be honest with my reply, if I disagree, I tend to soften my stand, unless it is something that really is important.

Today I was asked about whether or not our church should open for Thanksgiving service on the 21st. Contrary to what was said by someone who does not come to the church at all, I feel it should be open for those who would like to attend, observing of course, social distancing, and the wearing of a face mask. Because our members are scattered all across Canada, the actual numbers who can or would physically attend has always been low in number.

Those of us who find comfort in being in the church, some have been with the church since it was built. (the new one).. It is our home, our sanctuary . PL has always been unique in how it offers personal guidance responding to problems of our every day lives.

It is through consultations given by PL ministers, the personal guidance tailored to the individual character and situation that makes PL such a bonding experience.

That the question even needed to be asked.. (.. WOW..) Needless to say, I disagreed with the statement that we stay closed, … and I spoke out. These past weeks have made me realize, that too often, doors are closed, and the support that should be available is withdrawn.

Ministers are front line care givers. Not only the physical body needs to be addressed, now more then ever, we need to feed, heal and nurture our spirits.

happy yummy

fresh baked tea biscuit, smothered in butter, and raw honey

That sounds soooo good. The doctor is not worried about my cough, or cracked and at times absent voice. Fixing the diabetic numbers is more important. The fact that for the last many years, every time I am under the weather or allergies hit.. my voice goes wonky (pointed out by my son this morning)…. leaves me wanting a hot steaming fresh out of the oven tea biscuit. lathered with butter and creamy honey… A good cuppa ice water (told to drink lots of water during the day) I’m sure that is to make sure that my new diuretic pill has something to work with…. a fresh brisk walk around Costco.. (a couple of times to make even more steps for my exercise log) makes for a full day.

For supper .. fresh roasted yellow spuds.. tossed in a bit of vinegar and Japanese salt. Steamed green beans… again the Japanese salt and black peppercorns… served as side dishes for the fresh tender trout fillets I got when at Costco.

If you get the idea that I’m hungry and anxiously waiting for my food to be ready… You are so right. Sometimes we just have to give in to the urge to treat our tummies.

How was your day.??

I thank the Universe for the blessings I have received so far today, and for the delicious meal that will be on my plate. (hhmmmm soon!!)

It is important to say “thank you”… Everything that appears in front of you is all material for you to improve yourself, whether it is food, people or things. Learn to accept everything, whether it is something you like or not.

a bit of history

from the past

Why this review of the past… I have felt so strongly in recent times, that some of what we all need to remember, is that the wonderful wonders we take for granted , were not always in our lives. We fought long and hard, and dealt with a lot of fighting to achieve the world we live in today.

picture and text taken from Pinterest

WE are currently living in a modern form of war, the landscapes of our lives are showing us challenging times. Many of us, are dealing with an inner war, freedom vs. captivity. Countries are drawing lines and taking sides. Not all news is biased, not all reporting is factual. There are times when omission is just as much a lie as what is said.

In PL. (Perfect Liberty) we strive to live Precept 21, Live in Perfect Liberty.

Not everyone is interested in planes… except if you are boarding one to go on holiday, or to attend a business meeting.. It is a mode of transportation. The above video, will show you a side of the airplane and what a whole mass of people who lived, or live a totally different life than you do.

WE (humanity) are all ONE, we are born, live and die… and each one of us will have our own unique “story” PL Precept #10 Love yourself and others.

PL Precept # 14 World Peace is Everything. Learn from the past, honor the lives lost from all countries. Peace begins at home, in our hearts, in how we live our lives, how we interact with others. Start with what you can control, and that is your own behaviour.

PL Precept #6 Efface your self conceptions. Dare to listen to everything you hear and see with an open mind. Before jumping in.. think.. will my action(s) create peace and goodwill, if not.. please take a moment to reflect.

PL Precept #18 Each moment is a turning point.

A man can get discourage many times, but he is not a failure until he begins to blame somebody else and stop trying.

WE are all ONE

deafening silence

the waiting

Along an open highway, I came across a long forgotten saw mill, and the adjoining lumber yard.

what a beautiful reminder of what was.. a story of activity of rumbling trucks, long beds of logs coming to to processed.
I stood in the silence of the day, taking in the beauty of the old structure. A man came to ask me if I was OK, could he help me with anything? I thanked him.. I appreciated his request, but nothing will bring back the past, or the honest toil and labout of men/women who worked side by side to bring us what we now go to big box stores to pick out for our projects.

I do remember the days when the logs would be merrily making their way down the river to the saw mill. Men would be out along the banks with long handles picks. During fairs we even had log rolling contests, everyone stood, cheering the contestants on. Nature was so much a part of our lives.

I was impatient with my sister yesterday, do I recall just why. No… but in my defense, the silence of the last many months, of voices, friendly conversations, and welcoming smiles of strangers along the roads travelled. Has left me rather empty. I am tired of always hearing only about destruction, violence, disregard for humanity, negativity, yes there has been and is a “problem” – WE – are all affected by it. But I refuse to have it the center of my life, and my reason for living is not to live in fear, distrust, and self exile.

Part of the saw mill grounds are being used by another company.

Life, the world, will continue to evolve and nature will continue its cycle of rebirth and renewal. My hope, my prayer is that we as people will once again resurface and the values of love, family and community, will emerge and be stronger then ever. Silence can be music to our hearts and souls when it is listened to with an open, caring heart. Stand up and be heard, it is time for PEACE ON EARTH and GOODWILL towards all.

Wednesday night out

on a clear day, we can explore forever

I was drawn to the outdoors today. we are fortunate to live where we can enjoy a huge expanse of open countryside, and the ocean. I really needed a break from the news coverage of the unrest and disrespect for human diversity. Fortunately I do have a place to escape.

Girls night out – DJ Yume is rocking the tunes

The music is loud and we are rocking. Rose in the middle, Yume on the right and yours truly on the left. We are at Tango’s a club that offers a variety of music, depending on the evening and the DJs theme. If you are virtual traveller, this is your ticket to ride. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Larius%20River/21/223/15 Dj. Yume takes the stage on Wednesday evenings and Fridays 7 pm SL time.

plays Tuesdays and Saturdays 7 pm. – 9 pm SL time
Wednesdays and Fridays.. 7pm (Tango’s)

There obviously a lot of choices in Second Life.. Silver works at Smokestack, DJing there on Mondays.. for R & R when we want time out.. we visit Tango’s.. the ambience, and friends there make for a great evening of fun.

Usually entertainment and SL news is in my other blog https://virtualnws8.ca/ yes why not… this blog is relatively new, many of you have been following me now through my adventures.. It is not unlike one of my previous ones, where I blogged, the fashion, and entertainment venues of the virtual worlds.. Music makes the world go round. Like the individuals we are.. our musical choices differ too.

With the pandemic all around us, many of us spend more time in SL these days.. While Smokestack is every kind of Blues you can imagine, Tango’s offers a variety of tunes.. and the personality DJs like to throw in themes.

OH wow David Bowie .. let’s dance. https://youtu.be/VbD_kBJc_gI

wish you were here

No one is sitting still,Yume is just rocking out the tunes, and people keep coming. Its a great night..Please keep us in mind when you next want a night out with lots of good tunes.

Earlier in the evening I was visiting with a friend when we found out it was another friend’s birthday….. a party was happening to celebrate our friend’s birthday… (hey Nick! birthday boy guess you just get to keep celebrating) You betcha A.. we got ourselves over to the party. =^_^=

Life would be plain boring without friends! We are surrounded by negativity, it is up to us to find out own way .. round and past the environment that some would cast us in.

In SL, we are from all corners of the Universe. We gather from everywhere, and simply enjoy sharing time, good music and conversation.

Find the peace/love in you and exercise it every day.

PL Precept #1 life is art.

the border caper

After an evening of reading about, talking about and looking at planes it was a thrill today to find books and magazine information on the Spitfire aircraft. But then I am getting ahead of myself. (Those of you who have known me for any length of time, recall my fascination of aircraft and how I had model aircraft hanging from the ceiling of my sun room.) =^+^+

May 30th. Eartha and Xsa decide on taking one of their “hit the road” capers. Point the car and head out. The only for sure, is that we are going to have a day of adventure. Eartha’s opening greeting was .. “just in case, I’ve brought my passport” Not to be left out, I immediately went to collect mine and off we drove.

Knowing chances were slim to none, we headed for the Canadian American border. What the hay, the day was sunny, the air was cool, refreshing and we were on the run from total boredom. YES we did, we drove to the border and headed across the beckoning empty bridge. We had a delightful meeting with the “border staff” on the American side. Of course, we were turned around, but it was a charming exchange.. we were both very impressed …and pleased.

As Canadians, we have to truthfully say, that the border staff at our own border station, was very dry, and lacked the social “exchange” we had received by the American personnel. Never-the-less it did not dampen our mood.

I also found a book on the Mosquito.. hard cover.,

There was such a sense of adventure and absolute delight that we were enjoying a day on the road. The landscapes were bountiful, and full of charming buildings, farms, newly planted fields, and fresh new growth on saplings and trees along the roads we were traveling.

We ate in Iroquois, the restaurant we wanted was not going to open till 4. Not to be deterred, we ate, freshly made sandwiches with big round delicious radishes. Everything is exciting when you are on a “journey” The books, were a true find. Sitting free for the taking along the road we were traveling. (a back road, taken on a whim )

Rather than thinking “I have to..” think “ok, let’s do this!” When you procrastinate and put things off until later, you will make things harder than they need to be. Get up and do it now.

Perfect Liberty 2020.30

I hope you will take the time to watch these amazing documentary videos from the Military Aviation museum We had a totally dreamy day. It was full of new discoveries, wonderful conversation, new encounters, and a purely “in the moment” day of activity.

There were other “finds” that will be unveiled over time.

maudlin

photo Dave Renz (day 68)

Yuppers today I woke up with a maudlin mind. My thoughts travelled down roads, through valleys and dales that well…just brought tears that needed to be expressed. Crying doesn’t mean I’m unhappy, it means I am reliving a series of events that tugged at my heart strings.

I talk to you all about love all the time. Love is forever moments that live on in the energy field that is me, myself and I. Crying is cleansing, to allow a tear drop to fall is to allow the sunshine in on a sunny day.
