In life we pass through many doors, some close and never open again, others close for the moment, and then reopen slowly to let the sunshine in, and the air is fresh and clear. Like a perfect sunny day in December should be.

A favourite flower to watch bloom, when it opens is a joy to behold. I have been overwhelmed by your kindness and caring. I felt it only right to share our news with you. smiles out at her community of caring hearts. The surgery was scheduled for 8, we were asked to be at the hospital for 6. At 5:15 my amazing husband wakes me “Q it is 5:15 I am ready to go, I’ll be in the truck waiting, can you be ready to leave for 5:30” Ladies I ask you… this is the faith he has in me. catch my wink and smile You all know I rose to the challenge and was ready with my coffee with minutes to spare.
And NO.. I am not going to tell you what I looked like.. LOL …. Let us just say I was presentable
Bottom line, the surgery was to have been from 8:30 to 4:30 and I was told that I likely would not be able to see him till after 6pm. I received a call mid afternoon, they were unable to proceed, they saw it had spread, did a biopsy and yes, it was more cancer cells. Rather than put him through a major surgery at this time, they checked the tumour that was there, saw that the previous treatments had dealt with it in a positive way. And “sewed” him back up. GOOD NEWS and some not so good news.
However, we are happy, we will only be apart a short time, and he will be home. Yes there is more treatments to come, and he and the medical team he deals with, will be there to coach and help us. ALWAYS GOD IS WITH US, every step of the way.
Myself personally, your consistent supportive encouragement and caring words have been such a blessing. Know that we/I truly appreciate each and everyone of you for what you bring into my life. Personally, online, from wherever, I love you all. You are all so special in your own way.

A flowers beauty will fade, but the last memory of the beauty in its BEING, will last forever. PL Precept #11 Always be with God

The only constant in life is Change

What started out as a very nice day, time with a friend, finding a stamp I needed for a series of cards I’m working on. Asked I would have said, life is good.

A short time later, we got a phone call, one that changed the “colour” of the day. A clerk from the hospital, left a message that due to what they saw as a heart problem, the scheduled surgery (coming Tuesday) was cancelled, lots to discuss, please call>?? You can understand, this was a rather startling and disturbing message.

We called back, only to discover, that the young lady, had not really gotten her information all updated and ready to dispense prior to calling. For months now we have been going for treatments, followed and taken every required tests asked for. Now 5 days away from the 1st surgery, they had found a heart problem. Never had we even had an inkling of a heart problem, not even a murmur of one. Needless to say, it was not a very quiet inducing conversation.

What we discovered was that, at the time my husband was there for the tests, they should have asked for a cardiologist right then and there to have a look. With a week-end looming, we are on hold. That a heart problem would surface over night, is rather puzzling. Anyway, we wait.

My head tells me that if his entire life, he has not had one symptom, or whisper of a heart problem…then… I have to trust that precaution is important. this is a very serious, major operation, the positive, is that they are making every effort to cover all bases.
Please join me in prayer and positive thoughts. His main surgery date of Dec. 13th. is still in place. There is an urgent request that he been seen as soon as possible. We wait. We pray. PL Precept #11 Always be with God.

I have stopped listening to the audio recording of Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosserr I simply could not listen to another CD. Not because it was awful, the truth is, it is an interesting and well researched book/CD. “Part investigative journalism, part social criticism,” it was a New York Times bestseller and has been critically acclaimed.
On the back cover, it says ” a fine piece of muckraking, alarming without being alarmist”.. my sensibilities just couldn’t take anymore.. I got up to CD 5 and couldn’t listen to anymore. “the dark side of the all American meal” The laws in Canada are not the same as the USA, never-the-less… There is a lot of common sense, and ah ha moments. If you are not aware of this book, or this author, then if you are interested in something different.. please check it out. I got mine at the public library, I thought it was something else, I really didn’t peruse it… I just thought it was a quick and easy…. NOT!
The news these days has been so repetitive, bleak and often shake your head, sad.. that I thought it would be a change.. NOT!
Time to find a feel good holiday movie to watch, or simply listen to music, if I thought I could go to sleep, wake up and the world would be different… nah.. that is wishful thinking…

Time to find a quiet world, where the air is clear, thoughts are able to chill, and time for a while, floats in a happy space.

We are fast approaching the month of December. A fellow blogger wrote to me today, and used the above two words, “genuine hearts”. I loved the sound of the two words, saying them felt like a modern mantra.
I have found myself watching made for the season, movies on one of the networks, it seems they are playing one after another, and so far they have all been the feel good romantic movies that pop up at this time of year. Boy meets girl or girl meets boy, one is full of the holiday spirit and the other is not.. storylines are similar and we are assured of a happy ending. As my sister pointed out, I don’t have to watch them, I can either watch something else or get up and do something productive.
I tell myself, I’m being productive, I’m being entertained, while I watch human behavior play out in front of me. After all, someone had to put this storyline together, then gather the assortment of actors, set designers, technical crews, etc. to pull it all together. The one I watched last night, even had my friend’s son in it. Ah Ha!!! Canadian content… It had to have been done awhile back, cuz he is now the “face” on Canadian Tire commercials, and has been for several years now.. So you see, I’m not just being lazy, I’m acquiring information that I can store away for when I need to spin out some pearls of “wisdom” or something =^_^=
Ok back to the words, caring, genuine hearts…………. I reacted because I do believe that in each and every person on earth, there beats a genuine caring heart. However I also feel that sadly, it is often on pause, and that we are often treated to a facsimile and not the genuine heart.
If you have any comment or feedback on this, I’d love to hear it. The world is constantly changing, more and more automation and the use of social internet for communication, is dulling the way humans interact. Machines have no feelings, and viewing life on a screen, is not “real” … it is scripted… Hello? what say you!
Another friend gave sock monkey a nip and tuck… now that is heart, when he comes home, he will have a genuine caring heart. =^_^=

I loved this little orange tree. Every year I would prune it back and bring it inside so it could survive our Canadian winters. Circumstances were that it grew very big, and we simply were unable to bring it back in.
Fortunately, our niece knew of just the right home and the little, now larger orange tree, went to live somewhere new. Happiness is letting go, knowing when it is time to say good-bye so that life can continue to grow and bring joy to someone else.
For months now we have been trying to declutter. We have been finding things we forgot we had. They are leaving to begin their lives again. Going where they can be rediscovered, and enjoyed and used in the light of day. Not stored away and forgotten.
When I see piles of this and that.. I’m heartened knowing it is temporary, every day a bag or box leaves for somewhere else. It is a work in process.
What are you working on today? Strive towards a positive outcome. Life is good!!!

The fun of starting something new, is that one never really knows what it will end up to be. what I showed you yesterday, and this today, are beginnings. Like one would sketch an idea, I am using fabric. Already when working this piece last night, I could see a glimmer of what I was NOT doing, that I think I will try when I continue playing,

When we look at a visual, it leaves an impression, that our gray cells will process in different ways, over the course of minutes, hours, days, who knows when what you saw, will reclaim a moment of your “now” to present itself in a different way.
Whatever your medium, photography, paint, ink, text, fabric, if you are expressing yourself, through a visual, the colours, patterns, shapes and textures that impressed themselves on your psyche will show up. Some colour combinations will never draw my attention, because, my “personal” makeup is drawn to shadows/light and colours that are attractive to me.

This is one of the reasons I love life, and find it so fascinating. I “see” the world in such a magical way. I loved this picture, didn’t know why till I got it home and saw it on my PC screen. When I took the picture, it was instinct. Now all I see is the wild animal preparing to chow down. =^_^=
Beginnings never have to end. Love the choices you make in a day, embrace the adventure of life. Appreciate your friends. Life IS.

Some times when we are travelling full speed down a Provincial highway, we admire the beauty along the sides of the road. Same is true when we are on secondary roads. My mind will pick up on a detail, that later brings me to another storyline.

Two very different landscapes, yet each sends me images and text. I imagine that for many this is also true. This morning, when I opened up my mail, one of the images I saw was this one.

Of course I thought immediately of Norm’s Thursday Doors. His this week is AWESOME Norm 2.0 For those of you who know my love of the “character” doors, you will appreciate why today he had me mesmerized..
My husband has been wanting to take me back for a visit to Newfoundland and Labrador, he worked there years ago when he was still doing radio/TV… I have also been there, but just to visit, now seeing Norm’s doors, you can bet your booties, I am going to be suggesting that YES, Let’s pack up the truck, bring the dogs, we are going exploring.
See that is what an image can do for me. I love seeing the world through the lens of another, as well as my own. When we focus, a whole new world opens up for us.
BE present. always. listen giving full attention. the rewards are A MA Z I N G
I didn’t plan on a trip to the States yesterday, but there I was, having lunch in NY State, and adding to my fabric stash.

Life is good, life is great, being alive to see the fall colours, WOW, we are so lucky those of us lucky enough to experience Nature in all her seasons. Yes even winter.
