what was

Once upon a time, we would see “hot rods” cars rebuilt, and put together from scraps or pieces of metal /other cars. When I saw this picture it reminded me of how today, our lives are impacted by so many outside forces. We are bombarded from morning to night with sight and sounds that are manufactured//man made.. Have you seen a rebuilt car lately? Sundays, it was not uncommon to see families out for a Sunday drive. Is this still happening today? Do you still make time to visit and explore the countryside?

Saturday

Good Morning, meet my new young friend, he/she has been coming to see me at P23.. this is a bird who knows me, because in this picture it is right beside me.. hopped up on the log and began to groom. That it is so comfortable near me, I’m thinking he might have originally been at P22.

Stop

Value those who are nearest you. It is especially easy to overlook how wonderful your spouse/family members /friends really are. Always remember to respect and value one another.

wonders

I used this imagine in my collage yesterday, I don’t know what it is about this time of year, but I simply do love seeing the forest take on “NEW LIFE” … The water will evaporate, the stump will dry up…. the world will present me with a whole new look in a matter of weeks. The birds that had been dropping in for visit over the cold brisk days of winter, have moved on. Occasionally a blue jay will see me and come screaming for a peanut, but all in all, the birds/animals are feeling the delicious calls of “nature” ….

Be thankful at the beginning and end of each day.

Each and everyone of your actions can inspire peace within your family, your community and the world around you. This peace will eventually help lead to world peace.

celebrations

Pictures taken in Crete, where they are celebrating Xronia Polla (“many years” heard in Greece around Christmas, New Year’s at Easter, etc)

Value your intuition

When you suddenly have an “a-ha” moment, or when a thought pops into your mind, it is God/Universe sending you a message. As soon as you notice something, you should act upon it right away.

We are all celebrating the week-end in our own way – whatever you are up to, enjoy being YOU. Because, YOU are unique!

Spring

Took a walk down that road you see on the right, it is blocked to traffic only vehicles are the researchers when they come to the bog… and head for the research buildings to check their equipment. Rain was forecast, but you can see where I was… the skies were still blue.

Middle picture was taken at Lime kiln “park”… this is a long trail that starts off at one end of the city and goes a long way across land, you can hike right through to a different parking area.

The picture on the left, you would have seen versions of it last spring and the spring before that, I love that little stretch of woodland… in the spring the ground is soaked with ground water and melting snow.

The pictures are silent, but believe me the whole time I am out, the birds are singing up a storm and flying overhead. In a short time, the outdoors will be a challenge if you are not one who likes being attacked by flying insects/mosquitoes … for people with allergies, the pollen and the mould spores… are irritating – but – aside from that… there is anticipation in the air.. Its exhilarating

Here is some cuteness for you…

Thursday

Whether coming or going, at home or 1000s miles away, There is no escaping, who you are, or what is happening in your “head”. We cannot always be where we want to be, or be with someone we want to be with. But.. always you are stuck dealing with the ramblings and thoughts that wander in and out of your “active” mind. Someone once said to me ” I wish I was on a holiday somewhere” I asked “why?” The reply I got was “so I don’t have to deal with all this “crap” “..”won’t it be here when you come back” I asked. “Yes! but I will have had time away from it all”

Sound familiar? ever have such thoughts? Ever try that? go away… take a break … when you come back is it easier to deal with?

For myself, if something is bothering me, I deal with it. I face it, deal with it, and then “let it go!” One blogger friend, I read took a solo trip … exploring this wonderful part of State that had amazing landscapes… I very much enjoyed her pictures, her adventure… that was a breath of fresh air … I didn’t have to deal with packing, unpacking, crossing state/provincial borders, dust, heat, strange sleeping arrangements. Guess I’m getting set in my ways… hmmm you think!

Willingly take on tasks that are behind the scenes

Be the one who is able to proactively take on the troublesome tasks that no one likes and for which they are not recognized. By doing so, you will be filled with a genuine feeling of accomplishment.

Life is full of surprises, some are happier experiences than others, but part of the journey is discovering new possibilities when we least expect it… I am winding down from the “need” to get a new car when it was not in my plans, or something I wanted to do.. I took my 2019 for her last drive to our haunts in the country, I loved that car,, she was my companion ..my comfortable place to be when the road got bumpy, I hope she will be happy where-ever she lands.

Everything in life happens for a reason, no matter the season… your life is what it is…. Sh#t happens, when we have been around long enough, we know… the only way out, is to focus on the road ahead and keep moving. It is all about the journey.

PL Precept # 17 Grasp what is most Essential

PL Precept #18 Each moment is a turning point.

Love a four letter word that defies any one definition

**no matter where you are, if you have a problem that won’t go away, distancing yourself physically, will not erase that “problem” from your gray cells. You will carry it with you…it will shadow you where-ever you are.

Wednesday

This was what I was greeted with yesterday.. and yes it is still there today! If lucky the temperatures will warm up, it is sunny, just maybe, it will disappear. But this is Ottawa, and it is Canada, so…. Mother Nature will eventually turn the page and we will head merrily along into the bright days of spring.

View your difficulties as a chance to make rapid progress.

You grow by overcoming the obstacles in front of you, one by one. Look at your problems as opportunities for growth and make the best of your situation.

On another note… a big thank you to everyone who attended the Sunday performance of the MMAC 18th anniversary. The Trow Boa Experience, featuring all originals written and performed by Trow (saxophonist) was a “sell out” performance.
