Day 8 of the PL calendar

First accept Everything

Life is filled with moments, sometimes happy and at times inconvenient. It is important to first accept every situation as it occurs and try to accept and understand it for what it is.

Bom dia!! Greetings on another bright sunny morning. Mid week already, where doe the time go.

It was fantastic day yesterday to travel the roads, the trees along the highway are starting to bud, I could feel the anticipation in every direction. The water levels were still very high as we approached the West Island (heading into Montreal). We observed that the water was still half way up the trees that would usually be above the water line on dry land.

Please take time to remember that tho’ the weather is currently dry, there are thousands who have suffered severe water damage over the last weeks, and need our prayers. Not just a few, but many people have lost year of memories and accumulated treasures, and are finding themselves in a place of sadness with weeks and months of rebuilding and hard work just to regain a sense of “normal”

What happens when you have time on your hands nd you want to recycle an onion bag. I go into my workshop and play, Meet Ms Onion, she is now waiting for her transformation, when I have time to spend time with her in the “makeup” room.

Good morning everyone! How lovely to see so many smiling faces yesterday at service. Our new Hokyoshi from Brazil, Yoshizumi Terada was our master of ceremonies, when it came time to sing, we all got to enjoy Com Quem Contar with dance movements. It was a DELIGHT. Thank you Yoshi. Another Brazilian member Kaiser Lette Bueno added his voice to the song. “Andei, Andei E encontrei Oshieoya Sama, Oshieoya Sama.

Com Quem Contar has to be the most joyful song, I love it. In English the title is Who to Trust.

Happy May 5th. Bom dia!

Another mixed media done for demo. The idea with a demo of new and old products is to show artists, budding new crafters and seasoned expressionist how to use some of the newer products that are arriving on the market daily. Yes you an see YouTube videos but a video isn’t something you can touch, feel and at the same time, have knoledegable staff who can and will help if you have questions.

I know that there are many who prefer to deal online for supplies, and if you know the product, and the supplier, have a particular way of working, and are not going to deviate from what you know.. then go for it.

My experience is that when I am in a creative mood, or am working on an idea, I want and need my inventory handy. Part of the creative process in mixed media is to be open to new possibilities. The demo -before- during prep.. sometimes, what is down could be up =^_^= Abstract work, is lived in the moment.

PL calendar day 5 Start by thinking “this is interesting”

Even when you are dealing with a difficult situation, it is important to find something interesting about it. From there, you will be blessed with wisdom and something new will come of it.

While Craig wandered off to find the well

“oh look”, said Mel

both doors are open, front and back

“for sure” said Nick, “let us explore

Craig will find us when he gets back”

Inside they went to look around

Meanwhile Craig having found a fast running stream

decided to explore a little more .. will the 3 friends,

end up back where they began? Although they started in one location, each had his/her own story to tell when ….

Good Morning, Bom dia!

The day is young and really not decided on what it is going to do. The forecast says rain and lots of it. In our area, there has been a lot of flooding already, this newest bit of rain could be a real disaster for many at risk communities. My prayers go out to all of you at this time.

Across the river on the Quebec side, the military has been brought in to help with the filling of sandbags and volunteers from all around are coming around donating their time. It is in such times that we see how community pulls together despite any differences at other times. Oyashikiri.

What you see above is my trying out a new product, seeing what it can do with a variety of molds or embossing/texture plates. The product used (coloured) is by Finnabair, called Icing paste (Prima marketing), It is through trial and error that I will find how it will work with my particular style of “working”. The challenge and opportunity of discovery. I love it.

PL calendar day 26 Put your whole heart into whatever you do, no matter when or where you are.

nick mel backyard

Last few days of tranquility, soon there will be outdoor activity with the smell of the fresh new growth, sunlight warm on bare arms and winter pale legs. When friends post the sights and wonders of their backyards, and places that they can wander and enjoy, it brings me such a joy, such shared happiness. Friends are what makes our day-to-day so magical. Each one is like a jewel, with its very own facets and brilliance. Unlike an object, friends are priceless.

I know I keep repeating how much I appreciate and love you all, can’t help it. You all bring such richness into my life that I am at a loss to explain why I have been so blessed.

Blessed I am.

Live with firm determination, that “this will turn out for the best” Everything in this world progresses and develops. Always be positive, knowing that everything will turn out for the best

Someone once asked me did I ever get tired of being a “Pollyanna” for those of you unfamiliar with that expression, it usually was used to describe someone who was always cheerful and looking for positives. I like being happy, and I work towards that goal. I sometimes miss the mark by a long mile and another times it takes only a smile to bring my happy back.

That does not mean that I don’t feel disappointment, and at times, totally sad and have no choice but to live through my emotion of that moment. It passes, meanwhile, my body, my mind needed that cleansing. PL Precept #5 One’s self is lost by being emotional Live the moment and move on.

PL Precept #7 Everything exists in relativity

PL Principle #2 I will not have complaints about others, matters nor the weather. Rather I will always be creative and will look for shortcomings in my own thinking and actions.
