Begin each day with a renewed sense of appreciation. always remember that you are here today thanks to God, and thanks to the many people around you. Let’s make each day meaningful by starting out with a feeling of gratitude.
it was quiet………….. too quiet…………… in the stillness, I could actually feel that time stood still.. it was brief, maybe a second or two… just enough for me to catch a glimpse of the thought that had been stilled.
the early morning light is getting stronger ……….. I spy the bike and wonder how long its been there ………….. was it just forgotten………. will its rider return some day ………… or is this just another way …………. of leaving a thought unspoken ……………
We do that in life, we start a sentence…………… and then ……for what-ever reason…………. we leave the thought unfinished. More often than not, we don’t even recognize or are aware that we left a “thought/moment” unfinished.
In the quiet………..new ideas germinate ……….. if we interact proactively with the every changing “world” around us ……….. it is good to live with a flexible mind… today’s mantra… “go with the flow”……………… let the quiet moment…….. spawn new growth ……….to enhance your NOW.
Good or Bad, it is your mirror…. sincere expressions invite good results, but insincere expressions can lead to unexpected trouble.
The top red brick home is a little gem I came across on one of my day trips. I was fortunate enough to meet one of the owners. She was taking a well deserved break on her wrap around.. just enjoying the cool morning breeze on what was to be a HOT day. Her home has been lovingly restored and kept pretty much as it was. the old wood floors gleamed of polish, I loved the attention that was paid to maintaining the dignity of the home.
The white empty building with the flat roof, is the structure right next to the lot with that wonderful sculpture I posted the other day.
This is the wood fence that separates the building from the stump. Interesting design.
I had not seen the tombstone with the entrance on it before. So snapped a picture for my collection of doors/portals.10
It is only natural that you are different from others. Each of us has our own way of thinking and our own individual lifestyle. That is what makes life interesting.

this would be a man made archway or entrance, yes? Shirley Keen took this on one of her walks, featured it before… NZ
this stump stopped me in my tracks… Isn’t she a beauty..
The back of the stump appealed to me the most. I walked around several times, taking my time, wanting to experience every dimension of what I was seeing. It sat on a vacant lot that had been for sale, I saw a sold sign on the real estate sign I hope that doesn’t mean that the stump will disappear.
I hope in clicking on it, you can see how much darker the backside is. Does it look like man had a hand in shaping it.. or was it cut down, and then left for nature to do her thing. ???
There are times in life when I think I feel like that stump. I have no reason for being where I am, except it is where I have ended up… and while life goes on around me.. my physical appearance changes, but inside, I’m like a piece of wood. 1000 stories to tell, and no way to have them heard.
I pulled out a calendar .. like I would the I Ching, closed my eyes and flipped to a page.
Always live with a kind and generous heart. Show love and embrace others’ good points, and be willing to overlook their faults. One who has a generous heart can live a fulfilled life.

Thunder and tornado warnings here.. gosh.. excitement never ends. Make the twilight hours count… re-energize… absorb the silver moonbeams as they criss cross the skies. the galaxy is alive…
The story teller in me, found a tree stump one day in a small forest setting nestled off a well trod trail. Not this one, but one similar. I was so taken with the setting that a whole story emerged about a wee family of forest folk who lived nearby and used the stump as their outlook. They would come out during the day, hike up the base of it, then stroll the “high grounds” enjoying the view of their little dens and glens.
I didn’t have the time this day to stop and really have a proper look around. Could this be where the wee creatures who live within the ferns and wild flowers, sit out on warm days.. to catch the rays of the sun, and visit with passers by. And what wee ones would they be?
can you feel the eyes hiding from sight, watching you
The whole area was full of life, birds, crickets, butterflies, ants, mice, chipmunks, the activity was alive with sounds … all blended in to form a natural melody that harmonized and weaved into a calming ambiance. It is a world of wonder like no other.
It is important to be assertive, but maintaining harmony is just as important. say what is on your mind clearly, but don’t be overly attached to your views. Respect the point of view of others and always seek to find a happy medium.
Good Morning everyone, how are you this fine sunny morning? Cards are made for the church, they are used to raise $ for the church and available at a tea room in the downtown tourist area, and I believe in a small art gallery bistro. (I know members know this, but we have new readers, =^_^= fyi… This is the first new batch in a while. )
A big thank you to all of you who have commented on the Thursday door post, I hope that I haven’t missed responding to someone. You were all very receptive to my wander in the forest too. I’m so lucky to have you in my life, your comments and little notes are very appreciated. I feel so blessed, I truly do. All because you share a little time with me when you can, it always makes me smile.
Offer your services instead of expecting from others. Take the initiative to do what you can to help others. Understand their needs and act swiftly.

Always pray to become a better person. If you are content with the status quo, your progress will stop. Always seek for ways to improve yourself and continue to move forward one step at a time.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.
I started out for one place, was in the wrong lane, ended up in a totally different direction, and smack dab to the entrance (parking lot) for the Larose Forest.
Was I dressed for a hike through the forest trails, no. Being the trouper I am, I decided to hike down one of the trails to get some pictures. Hot, was it hot… yes, but walking along under the canopy of the trees, there was a breeze.
there is a stillness that blanketed, no traffic sounds, just the rustle of the leaves. I was mesmerized by the shadows that played along the forest floor. Why I wondered do I not come more often to the green spaces that surround the city. I was only about an hour away from the city. It was so peaceful, so quiet, I felt a calm. When I did walk into a clearing where the sun got to kiss my skin… it was OK.. I was content.
My day was planned out for me by a higher being. I would not have started out to visit the Larose Forest on a day when temperatures were going to give us a scorching heat, with a high humidity factor thrown in. But I end the day with gratitude in my heart. I had a lovely day, it was a productive day, the myriads of greens, and earthy tones, was a palette that not only pleased the eye, but soothed a weary “soul”
Live in the moment. Whether you are walking, having a conversation, or having a good time, it is important to be fully engaged. Remember to live in the “now”

We find doors everywhere, some are grand entrances, others are solid and welcoming, while others, serve a purpose or did, and stand ready for when they are needed again.
seldom do I find a door that doesn’t speak to me.
When you think, “I’ve got it” think again. It is so easy to misinterpret the situation and jump to conclusions. always have a humble attitude and double check to make sure.
