Friday smile

Whenever you need a smile, you can always count on someone to pop up and say – Hey!

Hi! I’m thinking of you… Makes me smile every time.

Everyone gets busy in their own day-to-day living. When someone takes the time to drop in and say hello… appreciate the moment… this is one way the electronic world has changed over the years.. Where before we waited by the mailbox for word from a friend, now… with the internet, a few clicks and the smile is on its way.

This little guy I’ve been dragging around with me for years, I mean YEARS. He was on some magazine cover that someone had thrown out. I rescued him, every so often he pops up, I find him amongst papers, or stacks of magazines.. we share the familiar (by now) hello… and…. puff…. he’s gone till next time.

We need to tidy up and clean house in the fall, I prepare for nesting come the days when it is so cold outside.. we know we will be enjoying it from inside. For all the crafters and collectors out there, check your stash. Time to stock up.

Happy Thursday morning all.

I went to take a picture yesterday of a door. That was my intention, unfortunately, I drove by, missed the laneway, and could not get back. It was rush hour in Ottawa, and for some reason, where usually traffic flowing west on this road, is usually pretty good at this time of day, yesterday it wasn’t. Missed opportunity. I will go back another time.

Last night, looking for something else, look what I found. No, no way it is a door, but gall darn, could I figure out what it was. I know it is familiar. but it just wouldn’t come to me. Certainly I was intrigued.

This morning with a new day on the horizon, I had a “bingo” moment.

How I managed this, I’ll have to ponder on a bit longer. Does anyone out there, recognized what this is?

Life is full of surprises. We need only take out our phones sometimes, to discover a whole new world. For sure we meet new friends =^_^= My Chinese name, associates me with the moon, I believe that a “moon spirit” has drifted into my virtual world……

Our thanks to you all for your prayers, and healing thoughts, my husband begins his “treatments” next week, starting on Monday. 23 days of radiation and 5 weeks of chemo. We appreciate each and everyone of you!

Movati 8.31.17 Magical

Futuristic, a playground for my “Me” time. I’ve gone back to the gym. My favourite place, my get away Movati Athletic … It was time, I’ve been back a couple of days now, and it is wonderful. Staff have changed, the older carpet has been replaced, still the magic of the place is intact.

Having started with them back in the late 90’s when they opened, it was where I wanted to be. I went up to the co-ed floor today, a must for me, it means walking up the flight of stairs, there is an elevator, but the whole idea is for me to start rebuilding my whole over-all “body”.

My fit bit was very happy, I finally met and exceeded my goal that I had set for myself. =^_^= sparkles went off when I looked at my figures.. Yay!!!!

On my way home from errands, I went into on of my “haunts” and woweeeee I found a Madame Alexander Doll (2014) She was not in the best shape, her hair was a total mess, and all frizzy. Her body was scuffed and marked, but…. never having had one to check out up close and personal, I brought her home. She has been bathed and washed, and her hair cleaned, but it will be awhile before I get all the knots and frizz under control, IF it can be done.

Icing on the cake… I got home to find a big happy balloon tied to a floral dish garden. Thoughtful friends in Australia, reached across the globe, with their love and healing prayers. Muah darlings, I will write soon.

My husband and I have been overwhelmed with the love and friendship that has been coming our way. This is a journey that is truly blessed in many many ways. We our humbled by the love that has transcended the distance of geography and time. Thank you for letting us know, we are not alone.

Usually Velcro will nestle down into his blankets for his night-time sleep. This is our boy now that he wants to make sure his “Mom” is OK. He positions himself where he can make sure I’m alright, and if I move or get up.. he’s watching and listening. We both miss our Canaille.

Keeper c 8.23.17 This beautiful gal is one of the whippets we visited the other day. Look how amazing her colouring is. Her top coat a soft fawn, with a delightful pattern of dots showing through. There is something very humbling about how a dog will engage in an interaction with a human. She is standing here with her trainer, happy to share the limelight with him. Unconditional love.

It wasn’t till we adopted Velcro that we discovered the world of whippets and sight hounds.

When we open our hearts and lives to new possibilities, it is always amazing to discover that there is love all around.

Why?

I tried, I wanted to

I even brought my pens with me, I planned it all, the lined pages,

pristine white, blank pages,

for days I even practiced the different styles of lettering

anticipation high, time to doodle and write.

Yet when I got to where we were going,

Not once, did I use the pens to practice my lettering

The pads of blank pages, came home empty.

Why?

It is the journey, the living each day that is important, obviously, while away my time was filled with happy moments, new discoveries, a sense of adventure and of course, the cherished company of a wonderful husband and our two frisky “canine children”

When we live in the NOW, there are no regrets.

Lo-Mein Wednesday

Good Day! Woke up this morning, and for some unknown reason, thought I’d go for a walk. Not just any walk, but to one of the main streets in the area, and from there I thought to hoof it up to another main street, and come back that way to one of our bigger shopping centers. Have I been walking these days, nooooooooo but I used to walk these little hikes without a second thought. Fortunately my brain wasn’t completely out in left field, I did make arrangements with Hubby to be on standby.

Walking, means you get to take different side streets and meander through the various little communities instead of skirting them by driving along streets where the buses travel. You see the little corner stores, and the well tended lots, even little parks you didn’t know where there.

The church on the Montreal Road, I pass numerous times, (in the truck) but, even thought I see the sign, I don’t usually get to really read it.. that would be a distraction, I just know there is a sign there. Today, on foot, I was able to stop and read the message. It is a good one isn’t it. For those of you who don’t read French, it says, Forgive and Love unconditionally.

We must learn to forgive not only others, but ourselves if there is to be peace on earth. We really need to practice everyday, goodwill to one and all.

McDonalds 5.31.17 My reward for talking myself out for a walk, a cold, ice cold, black coffee, with lots of ice. Oh Yum. I called Hubby to pick me up, while I was half way on my little mini “trek” For a first time out this year, I’m happy.

Lunch, kale salad and skinless salmon. Made at home, no store dressing. Just lite mayo.

Spent a lazy day, painting and trying to resolve a technical problem on the PC. Am I the only one who asks, PC or Apple? I have both, each has their own special features that I enjoy. but neither satisfies me 100%

P1000693 Such is the way of life. A philosophical conversation years back, Can a husband and a lover be one and the same? Or do you have to settle on which qualities you want to spend the rest of your life with.

Don’t you just love the solid look of this old charmer, it has been so well looked after. While someone wanted the top one, but has left it out in the elements, the inside of it is ruined.

This beauty was ready to roll. The dealer wasn’t open when we happened by, and there was no signage on the vehicle. So I was left with no choice but to steal a kiss and run. =^_^=

Our Honda Ridgeline was secure in the knowledge that she can accommodate all 4 us, in a way the two seater could never do….You may love the wicked ones, but it is the solid good drives that keeps you humming from year to year. =^_^= .

I appreciate a good-looking body, especially one that has been well looked after. You can always tell when there is pride of ownership. Today we take too much for granted. Life is to enjoy, and living is about exploring and discovering. When we are internally happy, the world is a beautiful place.

dragon, start of.. 4.30.17

Once upon a time a dragon came to visit. “Oh” said I, ” what pretty colours you are! ”

“hmmmp” he said, “I’m just passing through”

So, I took a picture of him and posted him on Instagram, I went about my day and didn’t think much more about him. I was having a “dragon” kind of day, and really wasn’t that interested in what he had to say.

The next day, I was busy with activities that I couldn’t put away. Today was the day, so I had to be present and social in a “family” kind of way. By mid day, after guests were gone and I was now back home on my own. All I could think of was that I wanted to pray. It was pouring rain, the clouds were bleak and gray, but nothing was going to stand in my way. The quiet, tranquility of the church, the peace of love and community, was drawing me, like a moth to a flame.

Silently I prayed, my words and thoughts, came, they flowed, they flew into the air, the heaviness, the pain, slowly drained away. PL Precept # 11 Always be with God.

PL Principle #2 I will not have complaints about others, matters, nor the weather. Rather I will always be creative and will look for short comings in my own thinking and actions,

When I came home, the dragon looked at me and winked. The brat I thought. I reached out and with steady hand, and knowing actions, his friends came to light.
