once upon a doodle

rose and lion mixed media doodle

LOL I have no idea why the name.. well I guess I do. The rose is the fluff upper left. I had to rewind and ball of wool that was so tangled I was only able to save 4/5ths of it. Never one to waste a good piece of knotted and fluffy wool, I balled it up and put it on the doodle card I was working on.

While drying it took on the look of a wet rose. Of course the ultra matte gel used to sculpture it in place, changed the effect somewhat.. but in person, I can still see the outline of my rose. My lion is in the pieces of discarded paper that I ripped up from some notice or other… and layered it in a rolled ball that obviously flattened and mushed around. it is the Distress oxide inks that shade the papers that gave my Lion its life.

Beauty as you know is in the eye of the beholder. I can tell you with certainty that playing with mixed media.. making colourful messes is very therapeutic for me. =^_^= … A good night’s sleep works wonders too.

The everyday t hings you do will show when it really counts. If you have a tendency to be careless about everyday matters, you cannot expect to perform well at crucial times.

a little this and that… Eliza or anyone else out there, have you had experience with bromelaids? I found a beauty the other day, and brought it home.

for my other friends, I was up packing up a box of cleaning supplies shortly after 6 a.m. from under my kitchen sinks. I no longer have duplicates and half full containers.. Tidy now yes, but will I make use of the products??? ah… that is another matter.

lastly, Blues tonight 5 pm SL time.

Be a person who can recognize the sincerity of others. When you put your whole heart into things, you will be able to notice the sincere acts of others in the subtle things they do, and appreciate them that much more,

Always pray “for the happiness of others and Society” Praying only for your own wishes is not the true way we should be. Strive to do things for the sake of others, and pray for their happiness as well.

21st of the month

IN PL the 21st of each month is Thanksgiving

Be thankful at the beginning and end of each day. Each and every one of your actions can inspire peace within your family your community and the world around you. This peace will eventually help lead to World Peace

Perfect Liberty 2020.21

Sadness gives depth. Happiness gives Height. Sadness gives roots. Happiness gives branches. Happiness is like a tree growing in the sky, and sadness is like the roots growing down into the womb of the earth. Both are needed and the higher a tree goes, the deeper it goes simultaneously The bigger the tree, the bigger will be its roots. In fact, it is always in proportion. That’s its balance.

I wish I had found this one, but alas, it came to me by way of a dear friend who know of my “love” of doors and such. To all my fellow writers out there, doesn’t this just grab at your “imagination” tug at a bygone feeling that hasn’t quite disappeared from your box of “shadows”

There is something so tangible so totally “earthy” in natural product.. in this picture the wood. I can even imagine the smell of the wood in the heat of summer, and feel the cool hardness in winter. What a “wow” moment it had to have been for the photographer who captured this frame.. my thanks to the “gods” to have kept it safe all these years and to MC for sending it to me so I could share it with you all today.

Don’t hold anything back; give it your all. Always approach things with full enthusiasm and energy. Then, things will develop in a new direction.

PL Precept # 10 Love Yourself and Others

Jan 28 part 2

no two days are alike
each new day is a new beginning

Good Morning, if you missed part 1, it was yesterday evening’s post.

come one come all

come one come all, come to the ball, it is open to all..

the winds whispered and sang through the trees,

hoping to catch someone, anyone’s ear,

but, the lazy river and the foliage basking in the sun

paid no heed, there was no rush, fall wouldn’t arrive for another couple of months.

Too soon, they awoke to found that the ground was covered in snow, and the cool wind that blew, was in no mood for a ball,

It had come in with the fall, ready to blow the leaves down, and was ready to whip itself up into all it could be, to ensure a clear path

for what was to be. High above from her vantage point above the snow queen polished her wand, making sure her stars were sharp and ready to dispense of all of her glittering diamonds of flakes. With a sweep of her wand, the land below would be covered in snow…

Then, what a glorious landscape it would be. she would call back the wind and open the days to the majesty of the winter sun… Only then would her handiwork be shown at its best. Her diamond flakes would sparkle and amaze, she loved this time of year…

Once more the call would go out, come one, come all, it is time for the ball.

Seasons come and go, we need to flow with the changes. In this way, we will always rejoice at what there is before us. Always be in the NOW.

shades of white

Bet I didn't fool you at all, I snuck in a picture of rust. I know. Sometimes after a sleep, the marbles don't always nestle back into their beds right side up. =^_^=

Yes for those of us living where we have distinct seasons, the coming months will give us many varieties of ways to show off our whites. Let’s make it fun, journal or capture the special whites.. after all, white does come in many shades, and each one of us will have a different appreciation of the hues and vistas we come across.

Even if you have done it many times before, put your full heart into it. (Makoto) When we are doing something, especially if it’s a small or easy task, we tend to get sloppy. Let’s put our whole heart into everything we do, even if its something as simple as pushing a button.

family

Yes there were better pictures, but I wanted to share my special friends (family) from yesterday. These two little girls, are such a joy and Eartha, well she and I have been friends for years.. we are like simply “sisters” from start to finish.

I can’t recall the last time I did a siss boom bah and a chika latta, chika latta chika latta Boom, cheer in a public parking lot before. It was great fun, I didn’t even remember that I knew the cheer. But here I was out in the parking lot showing little A, the footwork, jump and cheer in the parking lot. My older niece is grade A gymnast, she had gone on with her Mother to another location, or she would have outshone our jumps for sure.

Letting go, enjoying the day, and today still enjoying the glow. there is something very special about sharing time with those we love. don’t squander your days, include your family and friends when you can.. Thanksgiving is for everyday.

Love is

Oyashikiri
